Gritty and blackened, yet highly technical. More atmospheric and less melodic than their previous work, this album is an experience from start to finish. I particularly appreciate the drum work, which is tastefully composed and fits each track perfectly. All in all, an excellent album.

A perfect mix of tech and progressive death metal. I particularly love Scott Hermanns work with bass, inspired riffs and awesome melodic solo stuff. All the guys here did a master work into riffing and mixing all the elements, giving a good balance between melodic and aggressive elements, obatining such an etherogeneous shape for Absentia where everything is properly dosed and has already a recognizable sound.
